today you learned why you don't squish them... you scoop them up in a cup and throw them outside.

Hopefully you don’t get an infection. Most bug defenses (as well as anything projected from a cavity in defense) is usually occupied and acting based on a biological toxin. This makes up venom too. Hopefully your eye will fight anything off successfully but keep an eye out (heh) for signs of puffiness or redness, especially in the eye and eyelids and make a B-line for an ER if you see signs so it can be treated quickly
